The seed catcher is working great, however, the squirrels are feeding in it. It's too close to a fence which gives them a perfect opportunity to feed. Will try moving the feeder a bit. Going broke on suet. I love that the woodpeckers keep coming back to eat, as to the White Breasted Nut Hatches...but those damn grackles......

I'm in California. I got up this morning to look out on the morning (destruction/construction) from my deck and found a struggling young Kestrel. It kept trying to fly into the glass. Talia was interested and then got bored. I used a plastic chair to lift it up over the railing, after going downstairs for the camera and taking some photos, of course, and then it finally flew away.

I was close to begin with so that helped. My older Panasonic Lumix (DMC-ZS40) does a decent job. I bought a new point-and-shoot camera for the 40X zoom and took it back. I didn't see any improvement.

Nice shot! Was that the Canon you returned? I think I mentioned that three of my sisters have purchased a Sony camera and all are impressed with the zoom, including one who has previously used DSLRs but got tired of lugging the heavier stuff around.

Yes, Lainey. I bought the CANON POWERSHOT SX730 from Best Buy and returned it. I didn't like it at all. My Lumix has a 30X zoom and it's easy to use.

Not birds, but two new white squirrels in the neighborhood this spring. Haven't had one in quite a few years. These are babies and snowy white. One seems to be in one tree, the second in another. Wonder how long they'll last.
