You might be describing the Black-capped Chickadee's call. It's a high pitched "richEEE" sound. A bird that loves my bird feeder.

Photo was meant as a Christmas greeting.

Nope. The sound is not close. It truly sounds like Rick eee. It's once, loud and not repeated for at least 10 seconds. I saw someone else did a search for the same thing on the internet but if all the answers she got , none of them sounded like Ricky.

Beautiful photos!!
I bought a second seed catcher/hoop. This AM I noticed a grackle feeding in it...., however, I saw a cardinal and a titmouse feeding in the other one, that made up for the grackle. I put out an additional thistle bag as well. Gotta keep the buffet line moving along.

My first hummer showed up this evening! I have proof but I have to get out my card reader for the SD card. Well, crappy cellphone through the dirty window, for now.
BTW, the Rick eee bird is out there somewhere. I hear it calling Ricky and that'a all. Just Rick eee!

Excellent, Patty. Look up the Mockingbird. They have all kinds of songs....not sure if they are in your area or not.
