Yeah, that's it, Pant. That used to be the stuff. Maybe I need to try it again. It's certainly been around a while, I took it as a kid for something or other.

I'm old enough to remember the FDA put an end to Carter's Little Liver Pills.
Actually I believe that the FTC made them change their name so as to leave out the word "Liver". They were sold for years after that as Carter's Little Pills.

Now you know good and well you're not old enough to remember any of this firsthand, lil' whippersnapper.

Granny, that change happened in the early '60s and I guarantee you I was around then.

Just imagine what the co pay will be if they are declared a drug. Like cereal isn't expensive enough already?

I've eaten Cheerios since I was a kid. My son ate them and my grandson LOVES them. Rick has Cheerios almost every day for breakfast.

That's it, Granny, Carter's didn't have any liver in it - thus false labelling.

I think it's pretty stupid. The FDA has approved dozens of drugs over the years that actually kill or harm people. That oats lower cholesterol levels is well established. No wonder McDonalds doesn't advertise the physiological impact of their cheeseburgers. This is about power.
So John -

If General Mills were to change the lableing and suggest Cheerios might reduce cholesterol levels might that be enough for the FDA?

After all that's more than the tobacco companies had to do for years. And that was for harm not good.

I'm with you - it's a powerplay. And completely illogical.
