favorite TV show intros

This one from a very silly early 1960s sitcom. The show was complete with canned laughter and all. The show itself was not one of my favorites, at best it was only OK, but the theme song had some clever lyrics.

There a holdup in the Bronx,
Brooklyn's broken out in fights,
There's a traffic jam in Harlem,
That's backed up to Jackson Heights,
There's a scout troop short a child,
Kruschev's due at Idlewild,
Car 54 where are you?

Another of my favorites. If you weren't in love with Mary, you had to be in love with Rhoda. One of the great shows of the 1970s. The theme song was not quite as clever as some, but sweet and really reflected the tone of the show and Mary. Another great intro song.

Not one of the great intro themes, but I loved the show and Louise Lasser. I stayed up every night to watch it. It was hilarious.

By the way Glenn Miller played,
Songs that made the Hit Parade,
Guys like us we had it made,
Those were the days.
And you knew who you were then,
Girls were girls and men were men,
Mister we could use a man,
Like Herbert Hoover again.
Didn't need no welfare state,
Everybody pulled their weight,
Gee, our old LaSalle ran great,
Those were the days.

For some reason, I memorized the intro to the old Superman. Ppl tell me I repeated it, in Kindergarten --- the whole frickin' one minute intro. When ask what I did during XMAS break. Or something like that.

Being one of the younger older folks on here, there's some toe-tappers from the '80s:

I love the scene when Elliot Gould states: "A man can not savor his Martini without an olive"
