Wow! With only 29K on it? I recently turned 56K, but have the weird howl that others have mentioned at a constant throttle at around 3,000 RPM.

I noticed a while back that when I slightly overfilled the Differential with Mobil 1 gear lube it seemed to help. So far (knock on wood) my baby has had 56K trouble free miles on her. I have done all of my own maintenance so far.

I do have one question? I looked in the shop manual and I did not see a mileage or age reference to the Serpentine Belt as far as when that should be replaced? Anyone? How did I miss that? What page is it on in the shop manual?
Matt,

Other than fluids (diff, tranny, oil and filter) what have you done in terms of maintenance?

Matt, as for the belt...check for cracks or glazing...if found, replace it.

I think most of the problem can be traced back to the original owner. It was obvious to me (after the fact) that he didn't know how to drive the car, or abused it. The part is supposed to be in on Fri, and my rep will be back on Mon to check everything out before I pick it up (assuming it is ready then).

I'm glad I bought an extended warranty. I'm at 46k now and holding my breath. MsP, I know you'll be glad to have your baby back safe and sound.

...and then there's my experience:

1 Drive my .'00 for 5.5 years and 65k miles w/o much problem, but wonder about coming probs; still have 18 mos and 45k miles on HondaCare wty
2 Decide to upgrade to an '03 with 12.5k miles; do not realize tires are overdue.
3 Spin off the PA Turnpike about 5 weeks later in the rain, and mess up the creampuff after 1k miles
4

I'll be interested in the next year or two to see what some others do, as their cars pass the 5 year and/or 50-60k mark. Is an S2000 good for 150k miles....like an Accord or Odyssey? Can you really trust buying a used lo-miles S2000 (no complaints in my case)?

Some pics from our WV adventure. The couple in front of the truck are the driver and his wife - she wanted to tag along on the trip back to DC. I took the pic of the car through the back window of the cab. We (+1 and I AND the car) rode back in style:

It still makes me sad to see your little MsP car on the ambulance getting sent to the S2k Hospital. {{sniff, sniff}}

Progress...differential came in yesterday and tech is working on it now. Will wait until Mon to pick it up, since rep wants to check everything out to make sure it's a-ok!!

Picking up car in awhile. Woohoo! Very happy that warranty company paid the dealer directly rather than my having to pay and get reimbursed.
