This is very unsettling. If you're going to drive I-81 near the MD/PA border, be careful.

We had a nut case shooting at people on I-96. They eventually did catch him.

Living in the DC Metro area which (IMHO) has a great collection of some of the worst drivers from not only around the country, but from around the world, I have learned to grin and bear it.

I had the experience of slowing up (from 5 MPH over the speed limit) in the right lane of three east bound lanes on the Fairfax County Parkway because the traffic signal about 1,000 feet a head of me had just turned red. I got passed by a young women in her Mercedes Benz in the right shoulder, who then cut in front of me, and then got on the brakes when she realized that the light was red. I am constantly amazed that people must drive not as far as they can see, but literally a car length or two in front of them, not looking ahead. One can see this poor behavior all the time on Interstates when traffic is backed up for almost a mile (site distance) in front of people and they stay on the gas only to then slam on their brakes (and sometimes rear ending someone in front of them).

To sum up my comments this story reminds me of the old Burma Shave signs that had an epitaph that read: "He would not dim his high beams, and neither would I".

Loosely translated that translates to: "Road rage; is it worth it, to prove a point?"

Sending this to 717Tom....he knows all the cops in that area b/c he was the Borough Solicitor for Chambersburg, County Seat of Franklin County, PA. Needless to say, he didn't get to PAY many of the speeding tix that he earned in the county
