There are definitely poop laws in our county, and since we live in an urban setting, I pay close attention to peeps who are walking their dogs. Most have the plastic bags with them, so I don't see the evidence too often.

I don't know why people don't pick up their dogs poop.... whenever we are out walking/hiking, we have bags with us...

Plus... in the winter it makes a good hand warmer!

Cmon now Lainey, this is a DOG POOP thread.

Talking cats in here will get us moved to politics.
Then we'd probably be forced to read one of Deans polysyllabic dissertations on the difference between cats and dogs.

^^ I always retched when I had to clean a litter box for my daughter's cats. No matter how much "odor remover" was in the litter it still really got to me. Come to think of it, I'm not too keen on the odor of poo of any kind. Our pooper scooper has a nifty auto handle that opens up little jaws, deposits the poo deep into a plastic grocery sack and voila', no more poo. The bag is then just placed in the garbage. We've trained the Beebster to go in one area of the yard in pine straw so we only have one spot to pick up. When I had a large dog, I had a little device that clipped on his collar that had a number of bags on a roll inside the device. QED.

I don't think anyone enjoys the clean up after pets, but we love our pets. Litter box gets scooped daily, dumped, cleaned and refilled weekly and that Littler Locker II is like a "diaper genie" for cat poo. I call it the cat's septic tank. It's made a big difference in odor control for disposing of the aforementioned poo. No smelly trash can.

This thread is full of sheit!!!

In our community there are plastic dog poop bag dispensers along all the walking trails. If I am on the trail I do utilize the poop bag.
And they don't get mad? I thought those were for the dogs.

I don't even know what a diaper genie is and I think maybe I'd rather not know. It has been 26 yrs since we had the pitter patter of little feet that wore diapers in our house. I'm not sure I could go through that crap (pun intended) again. Miss BB was very easy to train to take her poop outside. +1 has the lawn cleanup chore, so its been smooth sailing for me for a long long time.

The Diaper Genie is made by the company I retired from. I was heavily involved in the integration of manufacturing this product when we bought the company which originated it, which was then in Carmen's back yard, Streetsboro, OH, by the way. Here is info on the Genie: http://playtexbaby.c...e-II-Elite-Pail

Edit: This is the number one baby shower gift; at least it was when I retired! (And, it's still made in America. Well, actually, the refills are made under contract in Canada, while the Genie itself is made in Ohio)
