If you know someone that has lived to be one hundred years of more please tell us about them. And, what they think the secret to living such a long life is?

Grandmother lived to be like 98. She ate a lot of fish and veggies. Stayed away from meats or any processed type of foods we have on our shelves today

My husband, Andy's, grandfather (his Dad's father) was 101 when he died and his wife (Andy's Dad's mother) was 98, and she died within a week of her husband. I think it was about two years ago, this month. I don't know their secret to a long life, except that I don't think they ever smoked and probably hardly ever drank, and walked most of their lives. They didn't like me, as they were very Jewish and I was the first non-Jew to marry into the family.

The only one I knew was the mother of a condo neighbor who died at age 103, never worked a day in her life, had 3 children, husband owned 3 bars and died at age 78, left behind 4.3 million bucks, and drank a couple of beers every day.

My wife's grandmother made it to 103. She lived in the Philippines, lived an upper-class lifestyle, and probably ate oily/greasy food her whole life.

My two great-grandmothers made it to 99.

Apart from one case of cancer, both our families are long-lived. Unfortunately, not as long-lived as Lazarus Long, for you Heinlein fans.

My grandmother passed away just last week at 98. Never smoked, very seldom drank, and lived on her own until the day she died. She was very active socially in a retirement village until she was in her 90s. I think that is a large part of why she lasted as long as she did.

If any Centurians were still alive today, they'd be over 2000 years old

Grand uncle is 99, just met him in CA over the holidays...he's in a really nice assisted living development ...the oldest resident, and one of the few men!
Other than some hearing loss, he looks / behaves like a youngster in his 70's.
