A long time fellow motorhead friend of mine suggested this product to plug tires when punctured. What do you think about this product and their claims?

I've never used that product but it's probably OK for a TEMPORARY repair as long as the puncture isn't too close to the sidewall. I wonder if that "brass insertion tip" stays on the plug or rattles around inside the tire?

I have used a similar product [see pic below] without problems as a TEMPORARY fix on cars and as a permanent fix on lawn equipment.

Don't use them. If I get a flat I call Triple A and they put on my spare. I then drive to the tire shop and let them plug it if it is safe to plug (ie on my daily grocery store beater).

If I got a puncture in the S, I'd replace the tire plus the one opposite.

I am not sure why anyone would want to use it unless they travel without a spare.

I carry a spare tire in all my cars except my MGA. On long trips I leave the MGA spare out to make room for more luggage. The tires on the MG are tubeless but because of the wire wheels I insert a radial tube. In the event of a flat I carry a spare tube.

Since we travel in the S and fill the truck with "stuff" there would not be anywhere to put the full size flat tire, so why carry a spare?

We have a kit like the one pictured and a can of "fix a flat", as well as a mini-compressor. These items could work in a pinch. We also carry the AAA Gold card which allows up to 100 miles in towing, and even lodging if parts for our car are not readily available, i.e. the correct tire/tires.

Hey, that looks just like the cheapie Wal-Mart kit that I use! ......
Naaahhhh....... I only shop at high class places like Pep Boys or Advanced Auto Parts. One exception: Wal-Mart's price on Mobil1 and Castrol Syntec moto oil is a LOT cheaper than other places around here.

Like Lainey, on trips our trunk is so full we'd never get the full size tire in there. Supposed I could pile most of it on top of my wife in the passenger's seat. :

AAA Plus RV here. If anything happens, AAA will tow the wife's truck AND RV!! up to 100 miles.

Matt, the material that comes with Dyna Plug looks a bit thin to me. I buy kits like trapper is displaying, but they are more difficult to use than what the Dyna plug web site shows.
