Perhaps we should be putting an emphasis on trade schools so the next generation can be the plumbers, carpenters, and electricians in India, China, and Mexico.
Right now I'm in the middle of reading "The Wal-Mart Effect" by Charles Fishman. I'm not sure the future's that bright over there either.

I'm going to add that one to the "ain't no use in opening the umbrella until it rains."

Repeat 10 times and your worries will go away.

I posted it earlier...I've not heard Granny use that phrase, but it sure sounds like something she would say.

^Speaking of whom, she's been pretty silent (or absent) lately (missed a lot of the recent, er, fun).

Should we worry about her? HPH

Wondering the same. Maybe just recovering from Spring Fling, or the dump truck came to her office and dumped a load of work on her again?

Granny. Where are you?

I wouldn't worry...we had lunch last week and she's taking time for herself. I'm sure she'll check in at some point.

We've chatted on the phone and passed a few emails back/forth. She'll check in at some point.

Edit: Worry? At times, sure. All the time? No. About money? Never. If I need more money I'll get a job. About my kids? Of course, it comes with being a mother. I feel that worry over things about which I have no control is absolutely senseless. Sometimes when it comes to mistakes I think the kids are making, I worry, but I usually get over that pretty quickly when I stop to think that they have to be in control of their own lives and its not my job to tell them what to do.

Excellent point!

I do worry about my kid too. He belongs to a housing group in college and he had to organize a "Hookah" event that is a tradition. I don't like that one bit but what can I do? Hopefully, he will realize that it is not a good thing and will not set his foot in that path. But only he can make decisions that will impact his life. I take a similar stand. He will live his life and I can only do what I can to alert him of the possible consequences. Worry? Definitely.
