Do you recycle?

Do you recycle?
Are you green enough? Do you recycle? Do you take your beer, soft drink and water bottles back to the store for your .05 deposit if your state has a bottle bill?
What about newspapers and pizza boxes and other cardboard?

We do recycle plastic, glass and plastic and we return bottles and cans for deposits (A PIA, but it gets done). While we recycle our newspapers, we forget that cardboard can be included.
I give us a B+ for our recycling efforts.

Yes, everything we/I can. Save the planet!
I laugh when my coworker comes to pick me up during his week to drive and he asks me why I haven't dragged our trash up to the edge of the driveway. "uhhhh because I don't have any?" I think we have the city empty our trash every 5 weeks? Recycling does THAT much.

Here in Delaware, we have voluntary single-stream recycling, which pretty much includes everything except food waste, Styrofoam, etc. We have a special container for recycling that is emptied weekly by our trash hauler. In fact, we have 3 separate containers that we put out each Monday: Recycle, Yard Waste, and Garbage, which are each picked up by a different truck. Most people in our area, as far as I can determine from looking at the cans at the curb each week, do, in fact, voluntarily recycle.
I find that our recycle container is almost always full each week, while the general garbage container (^like Vadster) is only about 1/4 full. So, yes, I feel good about recycling!

Recycling is easy. I don't understand why more people don't do it.
At our small company last year alone we recycled over 291000 pounds of misc (steel, aluminum, wood, cardboard, paper, computers, copper, lamps, inconnel, batteries, oil, etc)scrap. That is money back in our pockets.
I do wish companies would stop using so much plastic in both the packaging and the over packaging. That crap will be around for centuries.

I live over a mile from where my trash cans would have to be set out, so I chose not to have trash service at all. We have a pullout cabinet in the kitchen with three baskets inside we use to recycle bottles, plastic and metal, and when these are full we add them to the other bins in the garage, where we store paper, batteries and other stuff. About every six weeks we make a recycling trip and get rid of everything, and also get a couple bucks for bottles and aluminum.
Our trash is pretty nominal and maybe once every three weeks or so, I'll bring a plastic bag to my office and dump it in our dumpster.
I don't care what others do, unless they throw their trash out their car window or leave bags or crap by the side of the road. Those people should be shot.

We recycle almost all paper, cardboard, plastic, glass and metal food cans. A couple of times a year we can and do recycle motor oil and other hazardous stuff.
We buy most of our beer, wine and liquor in New Hampshire which has no bottle/can refund policy. Trying to collect 5 cents on NH bought bottles/cans in Massachusetts is a no-no and those empties go in with our other recycled stuff.
