My Mom sent me this yesterday! So far I've been able to stay one step ahead of this "feeling old" crap, although the first few days up skiing this time of year always makes me wish I had been working out harder

Yeah...Mom is very cool. She loves it when I buy a nice sports car and enjoys riding around in them. She won't try driving though, says it's been too long since she drove a clutch. My grandma loves the cars too.. and she'll be 101yrs old in Feb.... now that is vintage!

For sure! Auntie will be 97 in Mar. We come from hardy stock it seems.

[QUOTE=tritium_pie,Dec 9 2004, 09:07 AM]I've got some joint injuries from kickboxing and brazilian jiu-jitsu and recently discovered the magic that is glucosamine.

I remembered this post and instead of just giving my 11 year-old dog the Triple Flex pills I got for her at Costco, I decided to give them a try. (They're Triple Flex by Nature Made: 1,500 mg Glucosamine, 1,200 mg Chondroitin and 250 mg MSM.)

They do work! Now when I jog I don't feel the hips grinding in their sockets towards the end of the run. Thank you, tritium_pie!
Hey! Those are the same pills I've been taking. After my knee surgery, the doctor recommended that I start taking them for a while to help the cartilage heal and regain its strength. Seems to be working - I barely notice the knee unless I try to stress it too much.

Yes, we're all getting old. (But not boring! )

I've been taking glucosamine for about 7 yrs now. If you forget to take them for a few days, you WILL be reminded. I do have to add that it does not seem to work for everyone.

I was thinking about this thread as I spent the day lying on cold, hard concrete, putting the gas tank back into my beloved '91 Jeep Wrangler. I kept thinking, this is really going to hurt tomorrow. Guess what, I don't have to wait until tomorrow. I'm starting to lock up this evening.

My dog's food has glucosamine. I might as well get started preparing for the days when I'll be eating dog food, right now. I wonder if he'll growl at me for swiping his food.
