Thumbs up Do you collect things?

Time for another poll. I found an old thread about collections but, it was not a poll. I'd like an update of what folks have to have.

I hear it is time for the annual purchase of the Hess trucks. Dave/dlq has posted a picture of a most impressive collection of S2000 related items. I know he has other car related items that are pretty cool. Flts has mentioned a "car box" with items related to the S2000, Charlie buys the Hess trucks, as do others. I know Val has a soft spot in her heart for elephants and Betty Boop, an the old thread but not a poll tells me Deb likes clowns!

A co worker collects beer steins (I irritate him and call them mugs).

We've never had a collection of any kind. I may keep "stuff" with sentimental value, from time to time, but that's about it.

What about you?

I collect all kinds of crap, but not on purpose. The plan is to get the garbage man upset with me over the winter.....

I voted "Have several collections" or whatever the choice was, BUT they are pretty limited. Here are my items....not really "collectibles" in the true sense of the word:

-Architectural books....mostly from college days when a book might give you hope to be a hot shot designer some day. Having passed that idea about 40 years ago , I need to think about selling off most of this stuff....or donating to a college, etc. Not RARE but expensive in my student days....$30-40 each

-Family stuff from my side... Our small attic is the repository for sentimental stuff from both father and mothers side. A banjo, many old pics/ frames, letters and postcards, etc. There are a few valuable Civil War items that I've shown before on another thread. I need to weed thru this stuff and just keep a sampling that my kids might want to have in their years

-Tools! Again, I have inherited tools (some of them antique) from both my dad and Kathy's dad. All of it needs to be sorted out and organized. Lots of good yard sale stuff....as I think these things are pretty "collectible"....along with kitchen tools

A good and timely thread to any of us thinking about "down sizing"
