Last night we watched Cinderella on Apple+. I will keep the review short....... It may have been ok if I was a 14 year old girl but I'm not.....
Tonight we watched Tom Hanks in News Of The World on HBOMax. We enjoyed it. It was a feel good movie and we felt good after.

High Noon-Last night I watched this 1952 movie on Prime. Filmed in glorious black & white featuring, among others, Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly, it is a tightly told story played beautifully by the actors. The film was nominated for 7 Academy Awards and won 4. Gary Cooper won for best actor. Grace Kelly was, even in a Western, very elegant. Whereas the plot and outcome were predictable, the story was tightly woven and kept me on the edge of my chair until the end. And the end is perfect. I'm not a big fan of Westerns, but I really liked this flick. On a rainy day or late night if you want to spend 1 hour and 25 minutes watching a good movie, watch this one. You won't be disappointed.

Rob if you want an old movie (1995) that will keep you on the edge of your seat with two really great actors, Gene Hackman and Denzel Washington, be sure and watch Crimson Tide on Prime. Although we saw it decades ago it was worth revisiting. Excellent movie!!

Thanks for the tip. I'll look for it in a day or two. Last night I watched "The Pride of the Yankees". Not an exciting movie but a nice baseball movie and I'm a Lou Gerhig fan. Considering that the movie was made in 1942 its pretty good. In glorious black and white and with Gary Cooper playing Gerhig and Babe Ruth playing himself what could be bad?

I am going to watch this. I know it's in color, I hope I can see it (just kidding, but I really do love movies filmed in black and white. There's something about the mood that it sets.). It sounds like a real good movie.

We watched The Burning Plain on Prime. It's a shame the story wasn't told chronologically because the story jumps all over. I found it hard to figure out and follow what was going on. If they director was trying to make it a mystery he succeeded.

We watched Shock & Awe on Prime. Not a particular entertaining movie but sometimes movies based on real events are like that. It traces events that followed 9/11, so it was perfect as far as the time to watch it. This one line from the movie sums it up, "When politicians lie, soldiers die."

Thank you for mentioning it. Since you and I have similar taste I look for your recommendations. Did you say politicians lie? Can you imagine going into that profession? I imagine the people want to help humankind, and then realize what they've gotten themselves into. It has to be far worse to be a defense lawyer. Big bucks but major lies to get there.
