Rewatched The World's Fastest Indian which I had only seen once before many years ago. Very good movie. Nice story about a senior from NZ who's lifelong dream is to run a modified Indian motorcycle on the Bonneville Salt Flats.
You can watch it free on YouTube. If you don't already have an ad blocker do yourself a favor and download one first. It makes free YouTube movies as good to watch as any of the other streaming services.

Watched Black Mass again this weekend it had been awhile since I had seen it, it was the movie about Whitey Bulger. Lot of inaccuracies and they left a lot out of it but I thought Johnny Depp captured Bulger’s persona well as did Benedict Cumberbatch who played Bulger’s brother Billy.

Battleship Potemkin-A silent movie, filmed in 1925, directed by Sergei Eisenstein and of course in glorious black and white, this movie is considered to be a classic with some scenes oftentimes referred to today such as the staircase scene in Odessa. The film, sponsored by the All-Russian Executive Committee, tells the story the mutiny aboard the Battleship Potemkin in 1905 at the beginning of the Russian revolution. Filmed on the 20th anniversary of the Russian revolution as part of the celebration.
The film is a very powerful film, well worth seeing. The dvd that I was able to borrow from the library was restored, with all of the original title cards replaced. Scenes that had been previously edited out have been replaced. There is no question that there is a great deal of Soviet propaganda in the film, but again, it's a classic with early cinema techniques and again, well the 71 minutes it takes to see it.

We watched Outside In on Netflix. After serving time for a crime he didn't commit, a 38-year-old man forms a life-changing relationship with his former high school teacher who advocated for his early release. It is a slow paced movie but good as you are taken into the grass roots feelings of the people in the small town that it centers around.

The Best Years of Our Lives-A great movie. Filmed in 1946 in glorious black and white starring Frederic March, Dana Andrews, Harold Russell, Mynra Loy, Teresa Wright and Virginia Mayo. The movie is a study of three soldiers, an infantry man, an airman and a sailor, returning to civilian life and their attempt to adjust to the change. I've seen this movie a few times over the years, but this is another of those movies that I never get tired of seeing. I discovered it on Prime. A great movie well worth the 2 hours and 50 minutes. If you've never seen it, see it. If you've seen it its well worth watching again.

The Longest Day-A very good movie about the hours leading up to D-Day and D-Day itself. Well played by an all star cast, even though some of the bravado (especially John Wayne's) is a bit over the top. Still its a very good movie. In glorious black and white it well worth the time to watch it. I've seen it a few times over the years, but it's another of those movies I never get tired of. If you haven't seen it, see it.
