Did you watch the Grammys last night? What did you think of the show?

What did you think of the tribute to Levon Helm. I thought the show's version of "The Weight" was pretty good.

But then, I think "The Weight" is one of the two greatest songs ever written (Dylan's "Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands" is the other in my opinion).

I was kind of surprised the Carly Rae Jepson didn't win anything, and I was amazed a how bad Taylor Swift's opening number was, but all in all, I thought the show was pretty good.

I was hoping Prince would levitate off the stage, throw down a smoke bomb and we would only be left with doves flying off into the distance. Since this didn't happen I was pretty let down.

Never watch award shows. I'm often out of the loop when it comes to music, TV and movies. Half the time I don't even know who the nominees are.

I'd have liked to have seen it, but I fell asleep. Your comment about Taylor Swift made me chuckle. I've often at how she sells records and has risen to stardom. I've not liked a single song she's ever done and find her "music" grating. I have to admit that when I watch the award shows, it is mostly to see the evening gowns.

lol if carly rae jepson wins a grammy I'm done with music all together...maybe an mtv choice award but a grammy I feel is reserved for real musicians/artists.

Jlos dress was memorable to say the least, she's still banging at what 40 something? Anytime Alicia Keys performs, I'm in! overall not a bad show

I agree with your assessment of Carly Rae Jepson and her music, but she did sell a lot of CDs and downloads. If the music industry has respect for anything (certainly not the music) its the money.

I DVRed and have watched about an hour of it, so far. I skip the music I don't like (most of it). Some of the commercials are good. Like Valentine, I like to see the gowns. I also thought Taylor Swift sounded lousy. I've never bought her music. I prefer the Country Music Awards but like to see what's out there in all genres.
