Did you think you'd keep it this long?

In an effort to put this thread back on topic (what was it again, oh yeah):
I really didn't intend to buy the S when I bought it (this part probably belongs in the why did you buy thread). But since that day I've been in true love with a car for the first time. I've even managed to convince myself that it's practical.
But driving it from here to St. Petersburg and back, I've learned a whole new appreciation for it. The drive down to Lake Wales from Lady Lake/Fruitland Park I followed Dean and Martha the whole way. After just a few minutes, I pretty well knew what Dean was going to do in traffic; the amazing part was that I also knew when he was going to do it and how he was going to do it.
The same thing happened when I followed David and Susan to St. Pete Beach (after I figured out it made more sense to follow him since he knew where we were going). It's so easy to pace another S, it's almost like you move through traffic with impunity.
The feeling was further reinforced on the drive home on Tuesday, although I must admit that some of David's townspeople have a peculiar idea about freeway driving (part figure 8 course, part F1, part demolition derby). Although the posted speed limit of 70 mph seems to be only a suggestion for the uninitiated on I-75, the realized speed in many places would seem to be all you can get.
I tried to maintain a speed under 90 mph but under some circumstances one had to exceed that speed momentarily to avoid being run over by a semi. The most delightful part is that the steering inputs in freeway driving are negligible and you just have to mash the gas a little to get out of other people's way and resume your calm demeanor in the right hand lane.
In short (finally), I have to say that I can't imagine parting with with my car or being parted from it in the near future unless Honda comes up with something radically better.

I apoligize for my towns folk. I have that problem going to work in the morning too. I live in St Pete and drive to the other side of Tampa every morning. You're quick or dead. Hard to believe with all the snowbirds down here. It keeps you on your toes.

I don't know if it's typical but I have driven the main FL interstates with my cruise on 85 mph without ever touching it unless there's a traffic tie up.

Val,
I know that you own a Silverstone, but I sort of liked it better in red. I can't help but think that Betty, the hot chick that she was (I think she was a flapper girl) would be driving a red car.
