I've enjoyed reading all the stories. I read today that 24% of Americans say they are RC. I have great memories from grade school at St John's in Bartlesville, OK thru Notre Dame. My brother and I went to Rome last summer which I recommend as a refresher course. Times are different now...I still get sentimental watching Bing and Ingrid in "The Bells of St Mary".

I found this thread and found some of it quite amusing so I thought I would add my own tale.
I am still just shy of vintage myself so I attended in a more transitional period. Tougher than it is today but not as rough as some of the stories told here.
My 3 sisters and I all began Elementary at Our Lady of the Assumption School. My mother decided we would all go to non-public school after her years in the public system. Remember, in the 40s and 50s the public system was no picnic either. She had her hand wacked with rulers for being a lefty,
