Bumping this one up for Maury.
Anyone have any other funny memories they want to share? Reminder, this is NOT a thread to debate religion, or discuss the major issues of the Church or any religion. This is just a stroll down memory lane for those of us who now look back and laugh at some of the stuff we were told during our Catholic School days.
You know, like how good Catholic girls didn't wear patent leather shoes, since they reflect up? Folks would be able to see up their dress.
Then we have the prom. Supposedly, white table linens should not be used as it may remind those attending the prom of bed linens and give them ideas. Yeah, right, like they weren't thinking of THAT already. :

did 12 years in catholic schools. i attended the oldest catholic boys high school in chicago. the kids from one of the large catholic orphanages attended my school, and they they are etched in my memories.
most of us came from from working class families. our fathers were cops, truck drivers, factory workers etc. and mom stayed at home to care for us. we were rich beyond our wildest dreams compared to the orphanage kids. these guys had no cash. they had a ticket that got them lunch, a ticket that got them on the CTA, etc. they would bum food from the rest of us and sell their meal tickets for half price to raise that all important cigarette money. they were a pretty good bunch of guys, but some of them could not hack the discipline and got kicked out. I would like to think that they all became successful businessman. they sure hustled .....................

spent a bit of time in the principal's office, didn't you, Jim?
I said that I liked Catholic School girls.
I went to a public High School (Sheepshead Bay, or as I called it "Our Lady of the Bay")

Good thing. With all those smiley things you have in your post, you would have been one of the troublemakers for sure!
