Default Did anyone else watch the Beatles Tribute?

I know some of you folks are real doo wop fans but wondered if anyone watched the Beatles celebration tonight. 50 years since they appeared on the Ed Sullivan show.

Best thing I've seen on TV in ages (except for the commercials). The musicians who performed the Beatles tunes did a great job. They were really into it.

Paul, Ringo in the audience and performing on stage.

Loved it!

Nope. Watched Masterpiece Theater - which we are are hooked on. And, of course some Olympics. Was Ed there?

Yeah, I almost started a thread myself. It was excellent. I watched it before and after the new episode of Downton Abbey. When I left the show, they said Ringo and Paul were coming up "soon." An hour later I switched back and Ringo just started. Not sure what I missed besides a million commercials. BTW, what was Katy Perry wearing, the tent where Sergeant Pepper and the band used to play?

I wanted to watch it, but I was working and forgot all about it. I'm sorry I missed it. I wonder if it'll be available on the internet.

I did not. I'm sure it was great. Maybe they will rebroadcast it.

Fifty years ago tomorrow, I saw them at the old Washington Coliseum. Little did I know then history was being made! For the most part, it was a bunch of screaming girls. Also saw Paul McCartney a few months ago here. Another awesome event. Hard to believe all those years have gone by.

Glad others enjoyed it as well. I was only eight ( a little older than Legal Bill ) when they performed on the Ed Sullivan show, but I remember it, and singing along with their songs all the time. Went to one of their movies too. Didn't care for some of their music when they started with the among other things, but I do enjoy it now. They really evolved with their music along the way.

Katy Perry's dress was odd, and I saw one on line comment that she sounded like she needed a respirator. I too noticed the audible breating/intake of breath as she was singing. Not that I could do any better.......
