Default Dating in the Vintage world...

Well, we all know dating in the "middle" years is a bit different than it was in the old days. Since one of our own (Kyras) has given us a few revelations about her dates so far, perhaps more of you who are "out there" will do the same. If you are attached at the moment, you can reveal some details about your former dating experiences. Give it up, Y'all!

Well, Deb, I think it's only fair for you to give some details of how your hunk hooked you. Must have been some good techniques.

Hmmmm...well, I was going to give up a few details on my dating life to keep things moving, but the rest of you need to start. I've been off the market for two years.

First impressions mean a lot. One date had a ten year old car which I could deal with but the windshield was cracked. Just a little too low class for me. I wouldn't drive a car with a broken windshield.

Now I almost want to ask for a kiss up front, before I get into the car or truck. Ya know? If you can't kiss you ain't goin' nowhere, baby.

I got a divorce for health reasons, she was killing herself and taking me down with her. After several years of being single I realized for me, happiness is my freedom, so I'm no longer interested in dating.

That's about the best I can do to help this thread out.

26 years ago Beth was working for a vending company filling coffee machines, I had a company that had cigarette machines. We both had machines at the same location and we would see each other every Friday morning. Beth said she knew it was love when I gave her the keys to my machines so she could get quarters for change. My technique was that I had a station wagon with a couch in the back
Still works today

I've been off the market since 1977. I can hardly remember that far back.

Patty, sounds like your first impressions may be right on.

In our case, it's a good thing I didn't go with first impressions, as things have worked our quite well for us. However, a few of our first dates were rather strange.

In spite of a few strange dates, and some uncertainty, there was just something there pretty much from the beginning. Even though I wasn't looking for a serious relationship next thing I knew, there it was. I think most of us know it when we see it.

I'll be watching Patty's adventures with interest. It will be like reading a romance novel.

I know of several people who have met their mates on the internet.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like the word "date" is nowadays a synomym for "getting laid."

Which raises the question of what this discussion is really about. HPH
