Actually, there's the seed of a great idea in here. We have "golf course communities"; why not a "race course community"? You know, a development where the community areas are devoted to storing, repairing, and driving our cars: garages, shop, big parking lot for an autocross every Saturday, etc. Maybe even post the speed limits on the residential streets at 65 mph or so: if you don't want to drive above all else, go live somewhere else.

Sounds like a plan -- Of course, if all the residential streets have 65 mph limits -- and all the residents are vintage -- Grannyrod will soon be rich due to the rise in the Depends stock!!!

I have thought about this for some time. In Texas there are Air plane communities built around private air fields. Residents taxi their planes to the airport from their garages.

A community built around a track would be great. In addition to two and three car garages there could be work paddocks, etc. It needn't be a communal living place or a common wall place. I have seen many "golf" communities where everyone has their own house with plenty of land

As long as there are quiet spaces to escape, read a good book, or just meditate -- I'm happy.

Works for me!!! But I know he's reluctant to take on such a role. We'd have to convince him somehow...AND he'd have to leave Canada. No way I can take that cold weather.

Whatever else you do, don't give out bumper stickers with the name of the community. You'll be classified as elitist and moved to the lonliest part of the state. Of course then you'll be told that you'd have more visiters if you'd put a better discription of the community on the sign leading into it.

Not me, I moving back to New York City, its much safer there.
