Default Civil War footage & death stats

Be sure and see the stats at the very end.

Priceless Video captured between 1913 & 1938. A piece of History that we should never forget. Stirring footage of Civil War vets reunion @ Gettysburg .

It's not over until a little after the stats are shown.

This is truly a remarkable documentary of American history. I never realized that > 10X's the number of soldiers were killed in the Civil War as in Vietnam. To see the old soldier go through the "manual of arms" was inspireing.

What's especially humbling is to reflect that those large numbers of casualties came from a much smaller US population than later wars.

I was struck by this years ago. A friend and I were bicycling through rural Ohio and stopped at the town square in Croton. There was a Civil War memorial in the square: a statue with the names of those who had given their lives for the cause. It was a long list, especially when you factor in the much smaller population of that area 150 years ago.

...... Now here's another little "Tid-Bit" of info..for you Glenn.....Speaking of the "Nam"....more young men were either killed, wounded, or vaporized...and I do mean...vaporized, in the 3 days of Gettysburg, than all the 10 years of Vietnam Nam....
Now that is a casualty list...

Ya, I bought the whole set including the supplements. Shelby Foote's contributions are so astoundingly insightful.

Shelby....OMG...he was one of my favorite historians, of all time....

...and Ed Bearss....another top notch speaker...

More knowledge than you can ever imagine....
