The Cherry Blossoms in Washington, DC
This year the Japanese Cherry trees planted around the tidal basin are scheduled to be in peak bloom between March 26 - 28th. This year, it is expected that they will draw one million people and tourist to view this annual event. A gift of the Japanese government there are almost 1,000 Japanese Cherry trees planted around the title basin that are the "center piece" of the annual Cherry Blossom Festival.
I just got curious if anyone from outside of the Washington, DC Metro area has made the trek to see them?
If you have, what did you think? If you have questions post them here.

My mom , Abby and Grace (the dog )are leaving Leesburg tomorrow morning and are trying to route through DC to see them on our way to the Myrtle Beach. I have bought a throw away camera so my better half (who is in the snowy state of Ohio) can see the beautiful blossoms. I read a story of how they were gifted and then regifted back after the Japanese had their population died or was scarce. Very touching. I understand they are quite beautiful.
PS I miss you Ohioracer!!!!!!!!!!
