Cherry Blossoms DC April 2013
#14
^ I didn't see a single bee. Guess they don't like that variety. Lainey - this is the last day to see them at peak. Tomorrow we are going to get t-storms, which will pretty much ruin them if we do. So the tourists probably won't see much this weekend, unless we luck out with the weather. Strong cold front coming in. Much cooler on the weekend - 60s vs 80s. The Cherry Blossom Parade is Sat and Sun is the last day of the festival.

Beautiful. Thanks for posting them, Deb.
History is a funny old thing. Consider the last hundred years...
1912 - The city of Tokyo donates 3020 cherry trees to the city of Washington in a wonderful gesture of friendship.
1941 - Japan attacks Pearl Harbor to open a war that saw Japanese and Americans killing each other in unprecedented numbers.
2013 - We all drive wonderful cars designed and built in Japan.
Wouldn't it be great if the North and the South could so completely heal the wounds of a war that took place a century and a half ago.
