Maybe, but driving top down on Old Dominion with the early morning cool breeze and all those trees was really, really nice. And having that silver Shelby above behind me was, too. We had a little run for a bit. He was a bit snooty, though. I mentioned to him that I was the one in front of him and he said "Oh yeah, the yellow car."

Well, he got a little taste when I took off to pass a slow moving car. Very few places to pass, since it's a windy two-lane road. So when I got the chance, I stepped on it! He zoomed around it right behind me. I think he was jealous.

I heard about this and this is closer to me than the other 4 C&C I go to. What day do they meet here, Matt?

Matt, some nice iron there! I especially liked the C&P truck & trailer.

Saturdays from about 4 - 8 PM, from May thur Sep. But in reality during the nice weather, as early as March until as late as November.

IMO, the Cars & Coffee in Great Falls is TERRIFIC as far as high end and some real classic pieces (if one wishes to wake up that early). The Manassas meet draws a wider variety and types of vehicles. Everything from "bucket T's" to fire trucks, T-birds, Vettes, Vipers, classic hot rods from the 30's, 40's 50's and muscle cars, even an occasional Lambo or Ferrari.

Especially perhaps this coming Saturday morning, 30 Jun, where the low morning temperature is forecast to be 76*F with a high of 99*F (with a heat index of 110*F). Gee, I may have to set my alarm and make it to Cars & Coffee this week.

My '63 Vette was the same color as the one you took, it was called Saddle Tan.
I bet that you wish you still owned it?
Yes and no. Actually, if the truth be known, I do not, except I still like the looks.... and I liked that color on that car. I never thought it handled well. I know it's become an icon; it was two words back then....... Sting Ray and the start of that look which is timeless but it couldn't match the handling of my old Spitfire in terms of sports car handling. It lacked everything the S2000 has in that respect.

I understand. I have only ever driven a Corvette once. The bad news it was a mid 70's version (which if it was in NC being taken to the market as a Hog would have brought a good price) which handled like a pig in slop. IMHO once a "sports car's" weight approaches two tons the word "handling" pretty much goes out the window with few exceptions.

That is one of the reasons that if I could justify it, I would buy and Ariel Atom

Jim's sting ray (1972) handles extremely well. I just cannot get accustomed to the torque after owning an mg. I prefer the lower torque to the rumbling muscle cars, but his corvette really handles well in curves and is a neat car to drive. I've only driven a few corvettes in my lifetime, but I thought they all handled well. I'm surprised at your comments.
