my daughter left her new REI rain/wind proof jacket here last weekend. she just called and asked me to mail it back to Boston, so I have to see the cheapest way to send it....that doesn't take 4 weeks
i'm thinking that it will fold up to fit into the 9x12 priority mail envelope...
every time i'm in the PO, someone in the line in front is absolutely flabbergasted at the cost to send something fairly small. rumor in our older suburban area is that a number of PO branch offices will soon be closing. luckily, the one in our little town is VERY busy with 2-3 counter clerks most times.
while we b*tch about it, we still get p*ssed off when we want the PO to get "something" to "somewhere".

I'm sure the clerk can advise a frugal person like you, as to the cheapest, method of shipping.

I've always enjoyed sending out Christmas cards, but I think this year we're only going to send a very few to family far away. The idea of spending at least 44 cents plus the cost of a card doesn't make sense. I used to send about 75 cards every year but we'll probably only send about 5 this year.
