I don't know about the Fit but the Accord is not selling well at all based on the latest sales numbers.

I heard that the only reason the Accord was among last year's top 10 selling cars was because Honda was clearing them out.

It doesn't suprise me that the current one is not selling well. It's no longer a Honda, it's now a plain old big car. Nothing at all special about it.

Early this year, just before the tsunami, 2011 Accord 4Dr LX automatics could be had for $18.4K locally (2012 is now $19.6K locally). The price didn't make any sense but two people that I work with got this no haggle price on line. I found it on Amex-Zagg. I agree that the car lacks emotion but it's a Honda.

I was at the dealer for service yesterday and saw a natural gas Civic which looked pretty nice. It is about the only car left that can go in the carpool lane with only a driver. 38 MPG, an energy credit, and NG going for about $2.00 vs. gasoline now down to +- $3.55 sounds pretty good to me. FWTW

FYI...Car and Driver imposed a two-10-best-per-manufacturer rule a few years ago. But I'm surprised today's Honda managed to get even two cars on the list. And personally I would have picked the Acura TSX over the Accord.

If I recall correctly there has never ever been a top 10 list from C&D without at least one Honda.
