Until Patty can respond, as an x-southerncalifornian, my guess is she is in between the fires and should be okay.

My house in Lake Forest is in between the current fire areas. I'm not sure where the southern fire is but I think the northern fires are about 70 miles away and the southern ones are about 50 miles away.

That fire is huge!

Our house in La Crescenta was one street and four houses east of the Creek Fire Mandatory Evacuation Zone. We're out of the woods now. My geologist, who lives in Ventura, had his house burn to the ground yesterday. Very sad.

This entire season has been hard to watch. I can only imagine what it must be like living through it. Stay alert, Patty. And good luck to everyone in the affected areas.

How many times have you been evacuated over the years, George?

We haven't been, Patty. Our neighborhood was once evacuated when we were on vacation. We've been told to get ready to leave a couple of times and we've come close a couple of other times, including early this September when homes two blocks away were evacuated. We've been here since 81.

That's good and it seems like fires seem to burn near you every year.
