Here are a few photos from Day 4, Wednesday, May 2nd. Jim and I left Meridian, Mississippi at 8:19 a.m. and we drove 450 miles in 7 hours and 26 minutes. We got to the Fontana Resort in North Carolina at 3:45 p.m. to check in, after driving our first time on the Dragon to get there. After getting settled in our rooms, we drove back out on part of the Dragon to Robinsville for a Subway sandwich dinner and gas. We came back to the Inn as it was getting dark getting to redo some of the Dragon again. Jim took the brunt of the bugs as he lead. By the end of this day I had driven 2,415 miles in 4 days.
^Jim enjoying one of the chocolate chip cookies his daughter made for him to take, at a rest stop.
^The tree at Deals Gap. I think Catherine (Tachus) said it's parts of crashed motorcycles.

I forgot to post these last night in this thread although they may have made it to the Tail of the Dragon thread. They are from the Tail of the Dragon area, in North Carolina, at the Fontana Resort/Fontana Inn, from Wednesday and Thursday, May 2nd and 3rd.
^The main Fonatana Inn lodge.
^My '05 Suzuka baby and Jim's (now gone), '00 Berlina. He now has a 'new 07 yellow S2000. Oh, and we traded rooms. The guy handed us keys. We went to the building and parked and realized I parked in front of his room and he parked in front of mine. So, we just changed keys. We thought it would be funny to tell you all that we room swapped.
^My room and the balcony. I had to post these to show Batguano that for less money than a cabin you get a nice room. Only problem was my next door neighbor. Seems he was wiped out and feel asleep until 3 AM with the TV on, and the walls were fairly thin. I gave him grief in the morning.
^The view from the balcony. Yeah, I know I already posted it but I loved the view. Jim and I sat on his balcony and snacked and relaxed a little before heading back out again, on Wednesday afternoon for dinner and gasoline.
^There's my little Suzuka baby, right outside the door.

I got mail from Union Parish Courthouse, Farmerville, Louisianna. It doesn't say how much my speeding ticket will cost. I have to call the Union Parish Shreiff's Office for that. But it does say, that for a mere $150.00 I can participate in a court approved four hour Driver Improvement Class to allow the traffic violation to stay off my record. Traffic School is what we call it here and it's all day long. But it's not $150 either. But this says Do NOT PAY the amount of the ticket. Here, I think we have to pay the ticket, an additional fee and a course fee. I'll have to call on Monday to see how much the ticket is going to cost me.

Sunday , I left Northern VA and headed south to Greensboro NC via Rt 29 .- 290 miles - visited daughter #1 to finish a couple of "to do list" items. I also squeezed in a met with 2 Greensboro Honda owners Saki GT and whitemistress and their +1's. Monday afternoon I headed west from Greensboro to Knoxville - visiting daughter #2 to also finish a couple of "to do list" items. Was running late so I avoided the Dragon and stayed on I-40 - another 297 miles. And I'm beat. Heading home tomorrow ......

I will be posting more photos from my trip. I was looking through them last night to choose which ones to crop and shrink. Nothing too interesting because most of them were shot from my moving S2000, but you get a sense of the change in geography. Lots of green trees in Virginia, green flat plains in Kansas, snow capped Rockies in Colorado, interesting colors in Utah...

I just got off the phone with Louisianna. If I want to pay the fine for the ticket, and have it shared with California on my record, it will cost me $197. For 81 mph in a 70 mph zone! Seems steep to me.
Or, they will let me go to traffic school in Calif (and pay whatever that cost is) plus send them a money order for $150, but no record. I'm doing the traffic school route. It should cost about the same in the end but I want to keep my record clear when I can. The last time I did traffic school (for my '98 Odyssey van ) I did one online.
