Just another benefit of being a guy...

Lee or Levi...any cut...36x29...guaranteed to fit good enough.

Takes me longer to find the "Sale" table than the right size/fit.

FWIW my better half seems to have the same issue. She uses LL Bean or Lands End. They seem to have retained the more traditional styles.

Surprisingly well.
Excellent. I'll check the stock room for more. When you are done with them, you can pass them on to someone else who doesn't want to buy new jeans. They will be known as "The Traveling Pants."

Lainey -

I checked with +1 - you two are of similar stature and...um...stature and in no particular order:

Newport News
Chadwick
Chico's
Talbot's

I don't know if you have local storefronts for them but they all have websites. Barb says the sizing seems to be consistent.

Thanks for the suggestions, folks. Mary, maybe I will splurge. I spend just about all weekend in jeans. We rarely go anywhere that requires anything else.

Been wearing the exact size ( 32x30), button-fly 501's for 25 + years. I don't want to try anythng new. They seem to stretch out pretty quickly after washing them. I swear they are made slighly bigger these days than years ago.

The could be cut differently. I have found myself swimming in the same size jean I always wear, yet I know I've not lost any weight.

I'm guessing men have a slightly less demanding selection criteria.
A guy can buy a pair of pants without a mirror being involved.
do these feel good?
yup!! we're done.

True. And you know, Rick has never asked me "Do these pants make me look fat?"

Lainey that just means those are women's measurements compared to mens. Mens jeans ride higher.

Now who wants to measure lainey?

haha
