Default Buying eye glasses on line

I searched for a thread on this topic but didn't find one. I did find one about "Feeling Vintage". That was an interesting, if sad read. Some folks are no longer with us. Some folks were posting about the ailments of parents (who have since passed) ......and a few of us were mentioning our current vintage ailments/aches.

Anyhow, I know a few of you have mentioned dealing with the online companies for eye glasses. If so,which ones, and are you happy with purchase?

Rick needs new glasses. He pretty much only wears them to drive. He opts for single vision, transition lenses. To replace the lenses in his current frame which is still stylish, would cost almost $300.00, and if the glasses break during lens replacement, too bad for us.

I got a price on lesser expensive frames with the lenses and we were looking at almost $600.00 but he'd get a free pair.....He would like two pairs, one for each car, but compared to some pricing of the online companies, that certainly sounds expensive.

So, if you have used online companies (I think Gene did) let me know which one and how the cost compared.

Thanks!

Zenni here. I am very satisfied with them. I have bought 3 pairs from them since 2017. None of them were even remotely close to $300.00...

Zenni is a good choice. I bought Oakley prescription sunglasses, $459 less $100 insurance. For a spare I bought Zenni prescription sunglasses from Hong Kong for $51 which included shipping.

Vito used Warby Parker. He is very satisfied. He got the lenses that darken in the sun which he is also very happy with. Need to see how much he paid but I am pretty sure it was less than going to the eyeglass store.

I never thought of buying online. I always buy at Costco optical since they have good quality and reasonable prices. I'm looking online now, though. I found this diagram online to explain the current numbers I have on all my glasses, on the arm. I can use those numbers to order similarly sized glasses.
