Buyer asked me a clutch question

I have a MY00 with 77K and I am on the original clutch, it still holds well with no issues except for the buzz. I like the others have said don't do burnouts or abuse it but do take it to 9K and shift swiftly . Kind of a really hard question to answer since their are a lot of factors involved, even something as odd as someone that rests their foot on the pedal while driving will wear it out quicker.

I'm in the 40s. My first couple of years with the car I ran autocrosses and I did three or four drop-clutch 3500 to 4000 rpm launches at each event. On two occassions, I dropped incorrectly and smoked the clutch. But despite all that premature wear, it is still working fine.

I still have the original clutch plate on my car at 94,000+ miles. It is still fine, but I changed to an ACT clutch at about 20,000 miles in order to handle the extra hp and tq of the KW SC kit.
(But my car has been babied from day one!!)

As others have said the OEM clutch is very capable of going 100,000+ miles. The major clutch problems are associated with the clutch master cylinder leaking, or not changing your clutch fluid on a regular basis.

I forgot to mention that I smoked the living crap out of mine on a dyno. I was the first S2000 on a new kind of dyno that was supposed to offer real world results by setting degrees of resistance. The operator way over set the resistance and I filled the room with smoke. The burn smell was in the car for days but the clutch never needed replacement and it's still going today (I see the new owner driving all the time).

Thanks everyone. We had the S serviced yesterday, the inspection report was spotless and the tech said whoever buys it was getting a well maintained car. That sealed the deal and it is now sold. We turn it over to the lucky buyer on Saturday at the bank. Will be sorry to see it go, esp the +1, after 13 1/2 years. After I waxed it Saturday and saw how the paint looks like new, I had second thoughts. But we need the garage space!
