Default Board and other games

So, what kind of games do you play? I grew up playing bridge, cribbage, and Monopoly. Later starting playing chess, which I've recently taken up again. Am planning to learn backgammon soon. I also like board games - Trivial Pursuit, RummyCube (sp) and Triominoes are good ones. I realize lots of peeps are into online games, but somehow I haven't gotten into those so far. I think it's the idea of getting together and having fun with others that makes board games more fun.

As I mentioned, Rick and I used to play some backgammon. I rarely won.

He knows how to play chess, I don't I play scrabble on line sometimes.

We used to get together with some folks for trivial pursuit, card games like bid whist, or even penny poker. Many of us have moved on to other activities, so we don't get together for that sort of thing very often anymore.

I played lots of games, from card games (bridge, hearts, cribbage, poker, blackjack, gin rummy, etc.) to board games (scrabble, chess, checkers, backgammon, monopoly, etc.). Lately I have been playing MJ with my in-laws, and playing "mind games" with my children (Pictionary, Scattagory, etc.).

We had a lot of laughs with pictionary several years back....No artistic skills in my house! what terrible drawings we'd make. I was about as good at that game as I am at charades.....don't care for charades at all!

I forgot about cribbage. That's a good game. I prefer that over some other card games.

Scrabble is the major addiction for a board game. When I learned to play we didn't have the version that would spin so I became accustomed to playing it upside down. Now that we have a board that spins I still play upside down.

We usually play Monopoly and Risk, along with RummyCube, and various card games.

Upwords is fun, too, if you haven't played that one.
