Lainey, The Red Cross has many 'Blood Donor' locations around Philly and a website to find them.....any day of the week....often in churches/ synagogues/ colleges, etc.
There is probably a web site that lists sites/ hours/ etc...aren't you near Boston? NO more excuses

Every now and again there are local blood drives, but usually during my working hours. Some companies give folks 1/2 day off if they want to donate blood..........not here.
I'll keep my eyes open.
My granddaughter is probably old enough to sit still and I could bring her along with me some Saturday.

......For me it is a way to celebrate my good health and do something positive that money alone can not buy. I have given gallons (never really kept track) over the years. I was, and I am back on the eight week cycle.....

*how many other people donate on a regular basis? I do. My donation in December was my 40th.
*what's your reaction to the whole process? It's easy and barely hurts.
*how long have you done it? For about 30 years. I don't know when I started but I used to ride my bike to the Red Cross to give blood. I was 17 or 18.
BTW, my daughter, Christa, who will be 18 on February 6th, has given twice, too. Her High School has been arranging drives this year.
