My husband nearly dies laughing whenever I get together with my mom and sisters. He says I lapse into a form of southernese that he cannot even understand!! Reading the above comments make me laugh. I'm totally unaware of how I must sound to people not of southern origin.

I get almost the same thing from Martha when we visit with my Mainiac relatives.
I know Patty/Patricia thinks I talk funny. Imagine that!

Hey, I was thinking that very thing! So does Rick, talk funny that is. Phil says a few things funny too, that I've heard. Always at the end of a sentence.
Then there are the difference in expressions or names for things.
Pop=soda, roundabout=rotaries, that type of thing. And we have learned that when someone from the south says "bless her heart" there may not be an actual blessing forthcoming.

Dean, if Martha wants to be entertained by people who talk funny, be sure to stop at our house too! I've got a big family I can round up, (one sister lives in ME now) and Martha will laugh plenty.

I've heard that I say "dude" a little different. Last night I heard "dude" a lot out of Gene. Made me feel right at home in Cali. Lainey, do you ever say "dude"?
And Dean, we do NOT TAWK funny.
