It was the new 911 Carrera S, Bill. (No Cayman in the group this time.)
Interesting discussion, Dave.
The BRZ got a very good review even for the lowest priced car in the group, but it was judged as a bit too underpowered for the track portion, And its brakes didn't hold up at Laguna Seca. But the BRZ is supposed to be slated to get the new more compact FA20 turbocharged engine with direct injection for 2014. It will be available as a coupe or soft top. I would expect the car to be engineered to handle the increased power and torque, including the brakes.
Where can I get in line ?

Jim, the BRZ sounds like the BMW Tii of our day. If the turbo version doesn't mess up the handling I will be in the line with you.
Bill, you can read the reports and comments but seeing a top notch driver's face while testing is worth watching.
As far as the 911, I got the same feedback from our local tester.
