I was trying to be good and answer the questions as posed - but couldn't think of any American production beers or microbrewery beers that I would specifically say that I liked.

My favorites in no special order are:

San Miguel (Phillipine beer), Corona, Tsingtao, Spaten Munchen, Saint Pauli Girl, Henry Weinhart's (there's an American beer brand) - my favorite beer is one from Australia (can't get it here unfortunately) Carlton Cold (an ice beer).

I was in upstate NY recently and had Labatt's blue. That was pretty good too.

Beers I will drink if there is nothing better around - Coors, Lone Star, Shiner Bock

Beers that I avoid - MGD, Budweiser (they have a chemical taste to me)

[QUOTE]I am also quite sure that the ambiance of drinking it on draft there at the brewery in Newport, OR assisted me in this determination.

I'm not to fussy really. If I order one in a restaurant it's likely to be a Corona. If I can find them then Spaten, Henninger, St. Paulie Girl, Kauzen come to mind. A big glass of cold hefeweizen works for me, too.

In addition to car museums, we often seek out small breweries for lunch while on the road. Rick likes stout beer like Guiness, but will sample others as well.

I don't do beer.

Samuel Adams Octoberfest. I can't decide whether it's a shame they don't make it all year or whether it's a good thing since the temptation to drink it comes less often.

The coolest town on the Pacific Coast is Pacific City, OR. The Pelican Pub and Brewery resides there. They are home to a gorgeous view of Haystack Rock as well as some of the best beers in the country (Best Small Brewpub at the latest GABF)

Touche' ..... I will be sure to look this one up. I am planning to do the Oregon State Brewer's Festival again next July in Portland. I usually take a week and get to as many breweries as I can between golf courses. And, no, it doesn't help my scoring, just my ability to lose count!!

Fosters is my beer for now. It used to be Coors, til I read "Citizen Coors".
I miss Coors, but won't drink it as a matter of principle.
