BBQ Sandwich
Where's the best BBQ sandwich you've found?
I had lunch with a friend today at Famous Daves. It was some of the worst bbq I've ever had, my stomach is still regretting it. YUCH!
Beef brisket or pulled pork? Where's you favorite place? chain or free standing?
Mine is not Famous Daves.

I love Prosser's BBQ! I like the pulled pork just the way they cook it and its wonderful without adding all sort of yucky sauces to it. Just put it on a bun with a little cole slaw on the side and yum, yum. Hog Heaven in Pawley's Island also has some great pulled pork bbq. Like them both.

Maybe we'll check out Hog's Heaven in the fall, Val.
While on an S2000 meet in VT we stopped at a placed called the Back Behind Saloon. I think everyone at the table ordered pulled pork sandwiches. I had never had one before then, I've always felt they were too "mysterious" and if I end up with fatty meat, I'm done eating. Anyway, the sandwiches were delicious. Boltonblue/Jerry and I and +1's talk about heading back there but we haven't yet.
I've tried pulled pork sandwiches in a few other places, none compared.
Unlike Val, I like the BBQ sauce, you can put some slaw on the side, but not on the sandwich.

Ok, you won't believe me since it's not in the BBQ belt, but I ate at this place in PIttsburgh:

SMOKE bbq tacqueira - BBQ and Tacos. I had a "ribs" taco filled with rib meat, onions, cilantro, pickle and porter BBQ sauce. My wife had a pork taco with habanero sauce (not hot like you think). Absolutely fantastic. And incredible bbq flavor (wood fired BBQ out back).
Add in the best mac and cheese I've ever had in a restaurant and it's a fantastic lunch.

as Lainey mentioned the place up at Killington called Back Behind Saloon which was pretty damn good.
I also like state line BBQ in El Paso and county line in Austin,. Hell that's almost enough to make me go back to Texas again.

Have to go to the original location where the doctors are sitting on the hoods of their Mercs, Jags and Bimmers next to the construction workers sitting on the tailgates of their pickups.
Best Brisket Hands Down.
The original location on Inwood is the one to visit the others don't smoke on site.
As a side note just got an electric smoker with electronic temperature control and easy wood chip feed and can do 4 briskets at a time or 6 pork shoulders.
Awesome to have this in the freezer and available "on demand".
If anyone ventures to DFW lmk.

My favorite BBQ sandwich - pulled pork - is the one I make myself. I control everything, the cut of meat, the cooking method, spices, sauce, bread. I like to cook for myself but love to eat out as well. Hell, I love to eat and if there's a great martini with it, life is good.
