I think mine are branded by Shumacher. They cost about half as much and seem to work fine. Been using them for years now. I also have a Schumacher battery charger that I bought in 1975 that still works just fine.

I too have a large Schumacher charger. My Tenders were only $30 and that was for the 3-piece set. The Tenders by themselves are in the $20 or less range now.

Yep I also like the Tenders for trickle charging -- maintenance. I have a small version for the S here and a larger model for the Jeep in Colorado.

I wonder if they make one for cell phones? I seldom use my flip phone and leave it plugged into my truck's battery 24x7. Yesterday I made a call and it was fine. Probably the first time I use it in 30 days or more. Went to make a 2nd call half-hour later and it was totally dead, yet it read fully charged when I put it on a charger in the house. Called Virgin Moble and they said they would send me a free replacement battery (or phone later if that didn't fix it). Tech said I likely killed the phone battery by 24x7. I do that on my electric drills and never had an issue. Maybe it's a little battery issue.

For mine to be at 40 to 80 percent charged I'd have to use it. Maybe I will, and call Gene to tell him 'flip phones' are cool again. In fact, they have done several news pieces on it.

Me too! Mine sits on a shelf 90% of the time. I use it on trips, or if I'm out on the motorcycle in case of emergency. I don't feel a need to be connected with the world 24/7.

It is with great embarrassment I reveil that there was nothing wrong with my phone's battery. I simply forgot how to turn in ON. I was not holding down the End button long enough to turn it on. Maybe as one who seldom uses it I would have held it down longer if it was labeled better (or if I had a memory). So I now have a free extra battery and I proved to myself that charging it 24x7 does not wreck the battery - just as I thought.
