Mine is from Griot's Garage. It's called the Battery Manager II. Here is a link to Griot's battery management selections. They no longer sell the one I have I guess. Looks like they now have the III and IV. I think mine was $60 new.

This lower priced option claims to do it all. The Pcific Battery company says great things about it too.

My 01 original battery is still going. Just did a 2400 mile road trip. Do they punk out suddenly or do they just start cranking slower? It is stored 6 months a year.

I have often gotten 9-10 years out of motorcycle batteries. I have one of two marine battery that has been with me for 12 years, and I trickle charge them from Oct until May each year during the off season..

I know my 02 Lexus RX will lose charge very quickly - 3 weeks max.

Mine was starting to crank slower, and I decided to change it out before my next trip to Maryland in Oct. I just didn't want to get stuck somewhere with a dead battery. The new one cranks much faster.

I agree. I noticed mine was cranking slower and replaced it. The new battery cranked much faster. My old battery soldiered on for at least another year in someone elses car.

When I got home from a three week absence my S would not start. I have to find out where the current is draining. Meanwhile I took the car to Honda this morning, and they checked the battery to find that it need to be replaced. The battery was still covered by warranty, so they replaced it with a new one.

I remembered this thread, so I am going to buy a Battery Tender -- Jr, I think, following Dave's recommendation and Bill's link.

Thanks, all o' y'all!
