Default Bad news

I found out this week that I have cancer of the prostate Because it was caught early the prognosis is good. It does screw up my plans since I was going to Europe for two weeks in April. I can still make Spring Fling in May however.

I am getting hormone treatment to stop the growth. Then they going to microwave my prostate to shrink it. In two months I will start radiation for 7 weeks, five times a week. After that I should be OK.

A real bummer

Sorry to hear this, Herman. It's good, however, that you caught it early. Sounds like the treatments you're getting should do the job.

Wishing you the best.

Herman,
First best wishes in your recovery, we're all pulling for you.
With that said,I need to argue with your title, becuase in your words "Because it was caught early the prognosis is good."

So view the early diagnosis as good news, get on with the treatment, and get on with your life.

look forward to seeing you again.

Good luck with your treatment - sounds as if you have the slow growing kind. See you at SF.
