+1 has recovered from his "swim" but doesn't go whitewater kayaking anymore. They stick to the lakes and rivers. +1 was envious of our daughter who went out to British Columbia this past summer to Kayak with the whales and had an incredibly refreshing week. The quite and the beauty were wonderful.
The company did do as it should have for which we are most grateful. (We've been the other route in the past.) My Canadian soul can get a little anxious about health care or lack there of but perhaps that is a political thread not for here.
We've been enjoying our time and the dog loves getting two long walks a day rather than one.
I'm so glad to see you all still here and keeping up the chatter. Emil, I hope you get lots of snow soon. Not wishing it upon you but there are a lot of Toronto skiers getting desperate.

I know how you feel Patty. I loved the eight years we lived in the country when the only lights outside the house were the stars. I miss the quite so much. Here, as in all cities, there is that constant back ground hum.
Where is Kennedy Meadows?

I'm glad you understand, Catherine. The stars at night, peace and quiet, and the crisp clean air. Ahhh. Kennedy is at 6,000 feet in pinion pines and rocks, on the dry, eastern side of the south end of the Sierra Nevada mountains. I'm sure you've seen my photos in the past. Right now it's pretty dead up there and if I go today, I'll arrive in the dark and have to hook up my 5th wheel water, power and propane in the cold. I may or may not. Better get in gear right now, though.
