More work being done today.

Do these Astronauts get to sleep or do they get special "cocktails" to keep them up moving an alert?

Pretty cool torque wrenches they're using. Watching them wrestle with door alignments, made me think they were restoring an old MG. Funny actually, considering how high tech everything is.

Coverage has also been on the NASA channel on cable. We get it here in Long Beach...probably because of the big NASA facility down the road. (They test fire all the main shuttle engines there among other things...also NOAH, NWS, and lots of other cool stuff on their reservation.)

Last night there was a briefing on the tools they used for the repairs...really facinating stuff. Amazing what they have to make by way of special tools to accomodate zero-g and those gloves that are about as nimble as those worn by hocky players.

Meanwhile, on Mars, the wonderfully cool little Rover "Spirit" seems to have become mired in a Martian version of the La Brea Tar Pits, ending its walkabout.. I read that one of the mission astronauts that just returned has spent his entire career working on Hubble, including more than 58 hours of space walks...

I was traveling on business this week and I am just getting caught up on my personal e-mails and other stuff (like surfing here).

I thought that I would share these pictures of the STS-125 mission to repair the Hubble.
