Well...

It's hard to be clear that a chupacabra looks like. Here common rendition, though, and it's different from that critter.

At the same time, it's hard to tell if that Ohio critter is a coyote pup or not -- head-on, you can't see the length of its snout, it has a rather long neck, and it's hindquarters are pretty well-developed compared to coyotes. But may be it's a (malnourished) gawky adolescent.

On the other hand, that tail argues for fox. HPH

My first thought was fox, as well. But even if that's what it is, it's not in good condition and should have a fear of humans. And I'd wager that a fox is just as capable of transmitting rabies as a coyote is.

Seems a bit long-legged and out of proportion for a fox. But, it is hard to gauge the animal's overall size.

Let's hope so. I don't know what it is but it looks like some wild dog/coyote/whatever mixes we're seeing around here now but that one looks like it has either distemper or parvo.
