Sorry for not posting sooner but I've been having too much fun playing with it.

Here's my anticipation. Custom built for me.

Here's the rundown. My New Toy

Here's the cool part. We were invited to spend a weekend in Islamorada fishing with Stu Apte. If you'd don't know who he is, google him. He's a true fish god.

I have never seen a more perfect flats fishing machine. It's called a technical poling skiff. Lots of high tech from the hull to the remote control troller with auto anchor. The engine is a 90hp ETEC.

We can be up casting on the towers and drive the boat from a wireless remote. The boat as we rigged it draws 7.5" and will cruise at 40 with a 4 blade power prop.

PS I'm looking for a name. It's a Beavertail Skiff so I suggested the Miss Pussy but my wife shot that one down. Any ideas are welcome.

I was right! I thought you mentioned a new boat along the way, as I recall you sold your previous one.

Enjoy the new toy.

It's about frigg'n time you told us! Good for you, flts!

I looked at your link. Could you explain a bit about your fishing? I see you like shallow water. Do you fish in the ocean, close to shore or in lakes?

Kyras

In this boat fishing is usually in water 2' or less and it's all sight and stalk. It's more like hunting than fishing. the whole thing is to be sneaky. This boat has no hull slap or pressure wave that will alert fish. It's made to pole silently. You can't see it in the picture but mounted on the other side of the boat is a 20' carbon fiber pole.

Where I live the coast is covered with islands (keys) 10000 of them or so and it's very shallow in between them.

If I'm going offshore more that a few miles where the waves get bigger, I use my other boat.

You should name your new prize, "The pole Cat". Are you bonefishing predominately Fitsfshr?

My favorite fish is snook, but I'll use it for bonefish, redfish, permit, tarpon and whatever else is swimming shallow. It depends on the time of year.

ps I shot down pole cat. It's not a catamaran and I dislike catfish
My wife shot down Muff Diver too. There's too many dive boats around with that name.

Any more name ideas?

I'm truly in a name quandry.

Is sunburn an issue with that kind of fishing, since there's no cover?

Yes sun is always an issue at sea, especially up on those towers, you get a lot of reflected light.

We use long sleeve shirts that can breath and a long brim hat to help see better. We have light weight breathable shorts that you can zipper a pant leg on if necessary. If we're out there a lot, we'll use a face bandana too. Mostly the secret is to build up a good base tan so you don't burn. I carry lots of suntan lotion.
