another unsolicited restaurant review
if you have the circumstance to wind up in el paso,
state line restuarant, awesome BBQ.
The baby backs literally had the meat falling off of the bone.
12-20 bucks unless you want the "unlimited all you can eat" category for $24-$27
as many will attest, I don't exactly pick at my food but I haven't finished what was in front of me any time I've been there.
their tag line on the tee shirts Eat here, Diet at home
Mind you it would be a perfect place to bring a hungry 18 year old male.
it almost makes those trips worthwhile.....
ok who are we kidding but it's still frickin' awesome.

It's always good when you post, Jerry. I won't be stopping there since I'm not much into meat but I'm glad you found a good place to eat. So, how many times will you be visiting State Line Restaurant, is it?

One of my favorite places when I find myself in the Austin area. It's part of the same chain that has State line BBQ. This is the original BBQ business which occupies an old speak easy with a very "storied" past.

I didn't realize they were part of the same chain.
I enjoyed the Austin site some years ago.
Patty,
unfortunately I've had the opportunity to eat there 3 times in the last 6 weeks.
I fear I may become a regular there between now and christmas.
great food but not overly fond of the travel to get it.

pmptx, the only real difference is the sauce, isn't it always about the sauce, I prefer without myself so that I can enjoy the favors. The Saltlick is a great place too, it's usually covered up with people when I want to go there.

For the record, whenever the wife and I travel we research for restaurants that Man vs. Food has been to or Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives has been too. If neither of them has been to the city we are visiting, then we use Yelp.com (or the smartphone app) and haven't had another bad meal when traveling.
