You all shamed me into taking the test. I did better than I thought I would, but not as well as some of you. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I thought I got them all correct but I got two wrong. Fracking I had wrong and the one about what the about the earth's atmosphere. I should have known that one but fracking, eh, I wasn't sure about that at all.
Fracking is quite well known out here. There are recently exploited natural gas deposits the Marcellus Shale formations in the northeast. It's a method of extraction that pumps high pressure liquids into a drilled well to fracture the shale and release the gas over a large area.
They are also doing that quite extensively in Colorado, near Jim's "cabin."

I know it's been in the news a lot lately and some celebrities are opening their mouths against it, but I just guessed it was coal since it's not a California problem. We're too busy worrying about our headboards and brass faucets.

I didn't think a gas could be captured from the ground from a force pushing it out, so I opted for coal. I still don't know how that is accomplished. I mean, take, Scoots for example. High pressure is inside of him and gas comes out. How would he capture it? Ask Patty to tape a baggie to his hinney?

That was fun and quick. I missed one, and I'm embarrassed. I should have known that fracking brought out natural gas.

I am not a fan of fracking and believe we will (as we have many times in the past) discover this technique is not environmentally safe. Fracking is often used in syfy films as a naughty word. I think that's where it belongs.

I gave the quiz orally over the phone to my friend. He also got fracking wrong but the rest correct.

I got all except one right, too. The one that I missed was also the one about fracking.

Fracking has been a hot topic around here. Lots of these nearby:
