At the risk of turning this into a motorcycle thread, I was once heavily into motorcycles. I taught a Marine buddy, Sam Ham, how to ride and how to race. Before we shipped out to Vietnam he was discharged honorably as a sole survivor because his older brothers had died in Vietnam. Within a week of returning home to VA, he rear-ended a car and died. I just can't imagine the pain that his mother suffered.

It's kind of a regional thing although snowboarding is all over the world now but we just lost a local legend from this area Jake Burton Carpenter who was considered the father of snowboarding passed away from cancer he wasonly 65.

Sorry for your loss, I can relate, my friends and I have a core group and last year we lost our first friend. This year we are dealing with an illness.

It seems as if we are standing still watching others move off to eternity but in reality we are moving to our most certain end of this mortal life. We prepare so much for eventualities in this life, are we preparing for our next, permanent life?
