Default Andy Griffith Dies at age 86

As a fellow North Carolinian, I always had a lot of respect for this man and his acting, and especially for the TV show that made him famous, The Andy Griffith Show.

I actually met him one summer as we were both waiting in line to be seated at a restaurant on Roanoke Island, NC, where he lived until he died. He seemed like a genuine person, especially since he was bare-footed!

RIP, Andy.

Here is an excellent article about his life from my hometown newspaper.

Loved Andy Griffith. His shows will run in perpetuity. He was a great dramatic actor, also (for example, A Face in the Crowd). We were looking at old family pics recently and there was one where my bro looked exactly like Opie.

I loved the tribute that the SciFi show Eureka gave Andy by naming the deputy sheriff android after him.

I agree. When Eureka first premiered I found it hilarious and fascinating because it reminded me so much of our days at LANL.
